In the digital age that we live in, we highly depend on cloud services being available that we build upon. However, failure is inevitable and will happen - The question is, will you notice it?
When building platforms it is crucial to ensure that you will seamlessly handle failure and by being resilient to them. Come learn how Azure API Management helps you mitigate and recover from failures by using built-in load balancing and circuit-breaking capabilities.
You will also learn how you can route traffic based on your needs and simulate outages in your API platform to verify your resiliency.
Speaker: Tom Kerkhove Senior Software Engineer at Microsoft.
In today’s data-driven world, Azure developers are increasingly required to collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and scientists to build robust and efficient data solutions. Having no data affinity whatsoever, I wanted to break out of my comfort zone and explore this data thing. However, things got pretty confusing, pretty soon.
Should I focus on data warehouses, lakes, swamps, or lakehouses? Is ELT a typo? Should I learn Greek first to be able to understand these delta, kappa, and lambda architectures? And what should I do to get a bronze, silver, or gold data medal?
This session will be packed with information that I wish I had when starting my data journey. You will get practical guidance on how to implement your data solutions using Azure PaaS and Data components.
By the end of this session, you will be able to engage in meaningful discussions with other data professionals without feeling like an imposter.
So expand your horizons, boost your knowledge, and let this session be your first step towards a data mesh nirvana!

Setting up a hybrid environment presents its own set of challenges, with DNS serving as a cornerstone for infrastructure stability. Achieving seamless resolution between on-premises and Azure DNS zones is crucial. While historically, many applications were hosted on-premises, there’s been a recent trend of migrating them to Azure. Despite this shift, maintaining a standardized authentication method remains essential. Leveraging Entra ID authentication can provide a uniform login experience for both on-premises and Azure applications, enabling the implementation of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for on-premises applications as well. Entra-ID has it’s limitations with nested groups (enterprise-applications) what are the options and how can we get rid of this painfull issue?

The ecosystem around Microsoft Azure Integration Services is expected to grow very rapidly over the next few years as people look for new integration solutions, look to migrate from BizTalk to Azure and also look to move from other traditional vendors to the benefits offered by the Azure platform.
The 2 biggest challenges people and organizations face when developing integration solutions on Azure are:
As a .net developer you already have many of the skills needed to be successful with Azure Integration Services (AIS) yet many organizations feel like they struggle to find people who can develop integration solutions. In this session we will look at the opportunity for an organization to leverage their .net developers to help build integration solutions and discuss some of the challenges around where to use which technology and hopefully open the door for people to get into AIS
Your Azure bill just keeps getting bigger and you dont feel in control of it.
In this session we will talk about why we built the Cost Analyzer module within Serverless360 and look at how I used it on real world projects to help an integration team get transparency on their costs, how other parts of the business took a big interest in what we were doing and we will discuss some of the cost saving opportunities we found on the journey.
Speaker: Michael Stephenson Coach and Consultant helping customer successfully adopt Microsoft Azure. Mike Stephenson has been a Microsoft MVP for 15 years. He specializes in integration solutions and is also an advisor to Serverless360. Mike is based in Newcastle in the UK, loves to play and talk about Golf, and also talk about Football and Cloud technologies

Microsoft Entra ID Governance, is Microsoft’s complete identity governance product that ensures the right people have the right access to the right resources at the right time. During our session we will address the following topics:
Access packages With access packages customers can bring access management directly towards its end-users, allowing end-users to request the access they need and making business owners responsible instead of your IT-department being man in the middle during the whole process.
Lifecycle Workflows As people onboard and leave the organization, provisioning and deprovisioning is critical to maintain security and compliance. Lifecycle Workflows in Microsoft Entra ID Governance can help with pre-built templates for common tasks.
At the end of the session you will understand the capabilities of Microsoft Entra ID Governance, how it brings value and how to get started with Access packages and Lifecycle Workflows.
Speaker: Tim Sente Azure Cloud Practice Manager at Devoteam.
In today’s world, identity and access management (IAM in short) is critical to protecting confidential data and applications. With the increasing adoption of cloud-based applications, building a scalable and secure identity and access management platform is a must for organizations of all sizes.
In this session, you’ll learn about the journey of building an advanced IAM platform based on Duende IdentityServer. We’ll discuss the standard capabilities of IdentityServer and explore how we extended it with features such as multi-factor authentication, home realm discovery, and user impersonation. You’ll also learn about the best practices for building a resilient and secure platform, including strategies for handling scale and redundancy.
Whether you’re just starting out with OpenID Connect or you’re looking to take your identity and access management platform to the next level, this session is for you.

About a year ago we felt the urge to build a product to make our Zure booth at the CloudBrew conference stand out.
Not much later, we came up with the idea of building Zpeedy, our own IoT-powered racetrack.
We dove right into different technical scenarios as Azure PaaS fans, but it soon became clear that we needed some business context to keep us on track during our journey…
This session will sum up how we went through the various product development stages. You’ll get some tips and tricks on how to do just-enough-analysis, and we’ll look at which Azure PaaS components we used, why we chose them, and what lessons we learned along the way.
Come join us if you want to find out what’s under the hood of Zpeedy or if you just want to race your heart out!

Codit recently worked with the leading crude oil carrier Euronav, helping them connecting their vessels to the shore. Euronav wants to reduce their carbon footprint and become net-zero by 2050.
To achieve that goal, Euronav has setup the ‘FAST’ platform. This software platform is build on Azure and collects telemetry from the vessels. Euronav uses the collected information to optimize vessel fuel consumption and performance. Next to that, FAST is also a primary tool for the crew on board of the vessel for their day-to-day operations. The platform is used to exchange information between vessel and shore, getting insights in the performance of the vessel etc…
In this talk, you’ll get insights on how we used various Azure services like IoT Edge, Azure Arc, Azure Connected Container Registry to build and deploy this platform

Jenkins is a well known, open source CI/CD platform that is wideley used by many companies. Microsoft has its own CI/CD platform, called Azure Pipelines, which focuses on integration with the Azure environment. In this talk, I will compare both Jenkins and Azure Pipelines and show the main differences and similarities between the two platforms. In a demo, I will explain how you can use both of them to build and deploy a small web service to Microsoft Azure.
Speaker: Bart Verhoeven Motivated Linux and DevOps Engineer with a focus on Ops and a passion for Linux working at Axxes.
Surely you haven’t fell victim to saying “It works on my machine”! Your CI/CD pipeline is humming along, running your automated unit tests on every build and code coverage is at an all-time high. What could possibly go wrong? And that’s when users started reporting that the website was slow and unavailable. In this talk, I’ll provide an overview of Azure Load Testing and how you can use it improve your application reliability. You’ll learn how to create and run load tests at scale, integrate it in your CI/CD pipeline, and how you can use the dashboard to identify application bottlenecks. Be prepared for loads of demos!
